Recommended GMAT study books

The Official Guide for GMAT Review 12th Edition.

I cant emphasis enough about the importance of this book. This is the
most important book for your GMAT exam hence listed on the top.

Official Guides for GMAT review are considered ‘the Bible‘ of GMAT preparation & this book is its latest edition. I had stated its importance in my couple of articles earlier this year. Go check them out to know more about its significance * How GMAT works * When is the right time to the GMAT.

The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 11th Edition

The same can be said about the OG11 the earlier version of OG12. Official Guide, a must buy.
Although there’re some repeats in 12th edition, you should still buy
this book as you’d get some more real GMAT questions for practice. Most of students always concerned about the exact syllabus and the topics considered/covered in GMAT exam. Fortunately if you study official guides you know exactly which topics to study & which ones to ignore.

The Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review

I reviewed the last edition of these supplements. After OG12 released, official guide supplements for verbal and quantitative Also known as purple book. These supplement books are actually more of
compilation of sums published in 10th Edition of official Guide. Still
these are useful as I said they’re OG, the official guides.

The Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review

Also known as green book. These supplement books are actually more of
compilation of sums published in 10th Edition of official Guide. Still
these are useful as I said they’re OG, the official guides.

Kaplan GMAT Premier Program

Comprehensive book, a must buy and recommended for 1-package seekers. Traditionally, Kaplan dont make major changes in their updates, therefore be it Kaplan 2006 edition or 2008 doesn’t make much difference. Question bank is essentially the same.
It’s the flagship book of Kaplan GMAT series of books and covers everything. It comes with CD and also gives you access to 4 simulated CAT exams for GMAT practice.

Cracking the GMAT with DVD

This book from Princeton Review regards as an elementary book. A confidence booster
and recommended for easy learning. The newer edition of the
book comes with DVD, which surprisingly doesn’t have practice
CATs. DVD contain video of two GMAT students talking about study
strategies. Not much impressive.

Manhattan GMAT books series

It comprises of 8 books; three books for verbal & five for math.
The most popular among all Manhattan GMAT book series is Sentence Correction GMAT Strategy Guide (Manhattan Gmat Prep Guide)
The concepts of grammar especially GMAT grammar exaplained here so greatly.
Unlike other grammar books, Manhattan GMAT’s specifically written for GMAT grammar &
tips thus becomes more effective. It’s highly recommended to those who’s Sentence correction ( & grammar) is weak.
